Came by this earlier which some of you may have already seen or know about, superb model layouts in Germany, the new Airport layout is very good, hope you enjoy it.

Thanks Rob I enjoyed the video, what a huge undertaking. Layouts have moved on since we were kids, can't remember traffic offenders, rioting crowds and criminals featuring much

Thanks for the post --- how fascinating!
In this day and age where nearly everything is computerized and video for entertainment, this is a great departure into a wonderful viewing exhibit. It would be great to see it live!

Bill,
just come over to Hamburg and visit me - certainly the "Miniatur Wunderland" would be one of the "must go" places I'm going to show you!

I have been visiting there a couple of times over the years - and everytime I go there, I see new details (or even new sections).
In September they are opening the new section "Italy", and there are plans to expand the train layout into the building next door.
Between the buildings there is a town canal - so they would have to set up a real bridge between the buildings.
The plan is to create a model of the Channel Tunnel at the bridge - to link the section "France" (to be built in 2017, still in the old building) with the forthcoming section "Great Britain" (to be built already in the new building).
So visitors would be able to "cross The Channel" by foot, while the trains are crossing it beside the visitors, inside the model of the Euro Tunnel!

Hi Rob and Kay,

I want to thank you for adding this link and also to Kay in one other forum thread from some time back with the Landy journey. I passed this onto my older brother (a retired electrical fitter with our railways here in Aust) as he was travelling to Germany. I suggested he and his wife try and fit this visit into their travel plans. He sent me a postcard saying how incredible the detail was and they had a brilliant time and all the photos they took just did not do justice to how much work is going into this model railway. Super impressed.
