I found these in one of my collectors cases this afternoon.
I'd like some opinions on them.
I got this one years ago now when I was living in England. It came from a London swap meet, Picketts Lock I think. I always looked in the junk boxes under the table and came up with lots of these sorts of models. Paid somewhere between 20 -50p for it.
It is exactly the same colour and shade of orange used on the pipe truck.
This one is an odd one. Doesn't seem to be a Matchbox colour. Again very cheap.
Cheers, Steve

Interesting models!
Re: Interesting models!
The SF6d looks genuine to me and, given the source, it is quite possible that it came direct from the factory. (I have heard stories of models being sprayed in the wrong colour and then scrapped. This could be the sole survivor of one such run.) It seems unlikely that it is a trial piece since it has the later, wide wheels.
I am less sure about the RW8e. Lesney steered clear of black for bodyshells (although I think Ghosty has previously mentioned a Rolls Royce colour trial /pre-production in black). However, in this particular case, the later design of baseplate precludes a pre-production. The paint finish does not look quite right for Lesney, and I have the impression that there is no overspray on the inside of the body. It also looks as though the rivet is either unpainted or contains remnants of white paint. I therefore suspect some kind of repaint, although quite how the seemingly intact rivet and lack of paint on the windows can be explained is unclear to me.
What do other Members think?

Could this be the exact specimen on Christian site?

Re: Interesting models!
Yes it is. That picture was provided by Steve many years ago.
