The NAMC’s “Catalog of all Series Matchbox Models” (second edition) does not contain any variations not already listed by Nick, and neither does the AIM's “1-75 Series Regular Wheels” catalogue (second printing, 1983).
Stannard lists two wheel types: 9 x 28 MW, and 9 x 18 MW, the latter being found only on the yellow models (which are not listed with the 9 x 28 MW). I'm pretty sure this is a typo and both should read 9 x 18 MW but, unusually, Nick does not report any wheel details on his catalogue page, neither in the text nor in the table.
Houghton does not list any new variations and has all wheels 9 x 18 MW.
U.K. Matchbox did not examine the model.

Re: 28a Bedford Compressor Truck
Recently found this difference to the front axle casting, early version is narrow with a thin brace. Later version has an extra brace with reinforcing around the axle hole.
