My New Crescent Jigsaw.....

Just to show it's not just pre-war Dinky Toys that suffer from 'fatigue' here's my latest lot of Crescent garage and traffic items (the 'Keep Left' bollard may be by BHL). This particular style of petrol pump seems very prone, but I was missing the Power and Shell ones. Just to let you know how fragile these things are, in the listing picture none of the signs or the lamp post were broken. Every item was individually wrapped in bubble wrap and the whole lot was posted in a proper box so I can't fault the seller, it's just the way the (Crescent) cookie crumbles sometimes...........

Beside the possible thoughts about originality - is there a way to glue them to make them displayable?

This is the broken items after the application of some superglue and lots of patience. The superglue seemed very slow to set and I couldn't apply much pressure otherwise the item would just break somewhere else. I'll put some close up photos in the Crescent thread. When I started this I noticed that someone had already tried to fix at least one piece - one of the BP pumps has a section of hose that should be at the bottom stuck near the top.....

A TIP...
Apply a thin layer of glue to both parts and let dry. Then apply another thin layer to one of the pre-glued parts and hold together until set.
Ghosthunter.

Thanks for the tip. When I think about it that's probably what I ended up doing totally unintentionally! I'll do it deliberately next time and there'll be a bit less swearing.
