I understand things change every month, but if it is built correctly then it would not   when I try to update or change info

when trying to do an internal search as a aide on the site multiple posts or (incorrect/ 0 )posts will result on a model, that are hard to flow the progression as you may need to follow/match up several posts

any help appreciated

in past that worked
made many of those charts./lists and printed them out 35-40 pages
conversely a lot of the problem here in the states anyhow dont know enough about new computers

in the past when uncle billy needed more money to give away, an update was automatically presented which 9 out of 10X would corrupt the file,.... months of work simply
so gave up, since every new update would do something

now that the gov't owns MS you must march to their tune( I purchased and OWN several versions of excell/MS they no longer function)
must by a new version when we say,and like ALL current US soft ware (SELLERS) you are only RENTING software they can render it none functional at any time additionally excell is an extra ADD on monthly rental makes a $100 (hardware) new computer into $700-1200 (software)+ $15-30mo
would like to go with a preformed system or one not owned and reporting to gov't
further suggestions?

as a side note for those in the US, read your contract on new cars/vehicles the operating software (only way it will function)is only rented to you. system "owner" and govt can change /alter or shut down any time they choose and MUST return to dealer for service ..etc....new printer will not work with out approved $$$ ink

I have never had any issues with my spreadsheets. I always save a copy of my master spreadsheet to a separate portable drive, so I don't need to worry about any corruption issues via Microsoft updates.

I use "Open Office". Works the same as MS, operates any of the MS suite and is free. Also save all to separate hard drive.

thanks will look in to that

Having trouble getting their HTTP site to load to download it
once again I dont own it (nor necessarily want to)but if it is not on a disc or re installable then at any point the list can be locked up.....disc and or hard drive would not open or  when new version met old
would like to hear from some in US as other countries protect to an extent from forced destruction..update.. buy new

for just cars there are 5K with 5-12 bits of info for each ... trains etc (100 printed pages when it locked out)... over 300K line/entries excell did work great tracked buy date ,buy source, location ,costs, needed vs have, quantity, part #,double, etc

dont want to lose them again.....have considered bar code system but it does not like MFG codes vs mine or 10 of the same thing to it ,that are different in life (box or colors)

if word wasnt also rental ONLY in the US would go back to simply writing it out and print every 6 months because you could feed the print outs back in as base material

thanks for the reply
assume you are in the US ? owning and having excel on a disc is no longer allowed/functioning (good with computers...maybe)previous files do not go forward or are
are you operating on a version they still approve ? if your drive went bad how would you get excel back to open the files?
after 2014 unless everyone refused to pay....something free filled the void , you must pay $250> or monthly rent for excel package i have spent months building the files to have it wiped in moments by a forced update
Moyboy just sent me a very nice extensive file ,fortunately I could open it , printed immediately, saved painlessly ...but went to some hard to find area...did re find it after 15 minutes opened good I made no attempt to make changes but it tries each time opened, should I make changes and save, then the update corruptions will also apply......before you go there
ISP norton dell MS ALL have check nothing on/in the system but normal functions

I would like to urge all members to use Open Office as the closest alternative to anything from Microsoft.
