Hello,
more or less by chance, I became owner of two Corgi Toys Sonic controlled XJS, years ago.
My question to the community:
Has Corgi built more models/variations of these?
Which of my two versions is the more popular one / in which quantities have they been built?
Best regards
Wolfgang

Model number MS5300 and model number MS5310 are very similar but MS5310 has additional sonic control which I think was an auto reverse function when the car touched it's front bumper to some object in it's way. Both are easily obtainable in the UK at very reasonable prices, but were not popular toys when new, we just did not like buying big toys with the Corgi name on them, we prefered that on the diecast models instead.
Production quantities are not known unless figures are shown in the big Corgi book and by virtue of the Second model being introduced (MS5310), this should make the earlier version more collectible.

Thanks for showing - never noticed that there were two different versions!
The Saint Jaguar was also available with a black gun - the black are more rare/scarce/hard to find

than the red ones.
There was at least one other vehicle in this series: M5350 "Interstate Crime Buster", a Buick Century/Regal police car. I think it would have been better to release this as Kojak's car instead.

And another sonic-controlled Corgi (although not part of this series): the Corgitronics 1002 British Leyland articulated truck.

If you want to continue with the large Jaguar theme from Corgi, you could go and search for the Radio controlled versions using the same moulding as the sonic model but with a basic FM radio transmitter/receiver unit to allow front, reverse and steering control.

Gosh! Had the Saint XJS and the Buick Police Car as a child, still have the Buick, missing the Police Stop sign from the boot lid but it's probably in my parent's loft somewhere....great toys!
Cheers

Did you know there was also a large version with a soft top that went up and down by pressing a key fob type device..They appeared in a clearance warehouse in Manchester in about 1989 and I copped for a bunch of them and sold them off at toy fairs not realising they where'nt even released as the tops never worked properly.........
