What's your most valuable banger?

Post by matchboxkiwi »

What's your most valuable banger and what did you pay for it? Where did you find it? Was it one of those under the table specials?
Here's mine. Cost me $5 for five Matchbox cars off our local auction site.

All mine are bangers. Here's one, the good thing is the windows are mainly intact and the hitch is still there  This came from Germany in a sammlung, it was tucked away at the back and I think the cost was around £10 for 20 models but it was some years ago so not 100% sure.

This may not really be a banger, but its the rarest model in my collection. I paid nearly 60 Euro for it on ebay, where it was badly photographed - only on close inspection one could guess, that its a 10 wheeler.

I don´t care about the money i paid for it. I wanted it and i got it. But just for curiousity - whats the worth of it in this condition?

A lot of mine are, too, and none are particularly valuable.

There is no value in Euros Roland.
For me it is valuable because:
- it is the only Chevy Impala 57b I own.
- because it is not listed (please have a look her: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3768&p=40486&hilit=chevrolet#p40486)

For those not familiar with the rare Dinky Toys Bentley, the model shown by "Fox" above, is the South African markets issue from 1963.

It was available in Sage Green with dark Red seats and Black folded roof, Cream with dark Red seats and Black folded roof, Ivory with Red seats and Cream folded roof and Cream with dark Red seats and Beige folded roof.

Mint and boxed examples will realize Three figure sums of Money!
