Spot-On MG PB Midget

Post by superfastkid »

Hello everyone,

Picked this little fella up at a local car boot sale, not my usual thing but needed saving!

Most the pictures I can find online show a blue or red body, is green a standard colour too?

There are traces of red on the base tabs but when the tyre is taken off the rear spare the green paint is under the riveted on hub (if that makes sense?), cost the grand total of 20 pence so repaint or no repaint I'm happy :)

No, no known Green versions of this model, even when it went to New Zealand it was still in dark Blue. It must be a very careful repaint, not surprising as dark Green suits the MG as it does on so many British sports cars.

I had the red and the blue in my old non YY collection before it was all sold off. Wasn't the red one harder to find?

Spot-On cars were issued in the minimum of Two colours, with many in several colours. The MG sadly only received Two main colours of Red and Blue with shades. It was not a popular model for some reason, despite being a better representation of the car, their Bentley was not!

I have not found any colour preference on the MG at toy fairs, suggesting both easily available, a quick Google may say otherwise!

Most of the damaged or missing parts are available as modern replacements for both models, however, I don't think I have seen the roof rack listed for the Cambridge, but it must surely exist.
