The Chevy Pro Stocker and the Rover look more like resin prototypes to me, as does the red Tbird.Rob wrote:Looking at these photos I would say that there are what looks like a mixture of pre-pros and colour trials. The 62 Renault 16TL with 5 label is a pre-pro, so is the 16 Big Bull which has the rare black rollers. The 34 Chevy Pro Stocker is also a pre-pro. The 50 Harley with white seat is also a pre-pro. If you look closely you will see that there is no side stand cast for the model, early pre-pros had this, pre-pros also found with side stands. The 8 Rover in white has rare black interior with plain white body and no lights, also pre-pro, was later used for Police car. This one also has black bumpers.
The 59 Fire Chief with plain white body I have always classed as a colour trial/plain white body without tampo print.
I have to disagree, not least because the photo to me looks white, but because I have one. Found it at Sandown many years ago.ChFalkensteiner wrote:The Chevy Pro Stocker and the Rover look more like resin prototypes to me, as does the red Tbird.Rob wrote:Looking at these photos I would say that there are what looks like a mixture of pre-pros and colour trials. The Mercury (ex Fire Chief) is most probably not white but yellow, judging by the caption of the picture saying "Plymouth Taxi". As we know, the Mercury casting stood in for the Plymouth on a few other occasions too, so this is one more. A taxi version of either model would have been nice, but was never produced.
Can you show photo of yours then please, I am interested to see it in yellow if you have one. It is very hard from the photo shown to judge the roof lights 100%, although I agree that they are not the standard darker blue found on some.fixer wrote:i'm with Christian on this one Rob
I also have one and would say it's a late Mercury police car without tampo's
look at the roof lights, they appear to be in a solid finish and a similar colour to the body of the car as if a roof sign to take a Taxi logo
sorry if i miss lead you mine is white the same as yous and the one shown on Christians siteRob wrote:Can you show photo of yours then please, I am interested to see it in yellow if you have one. Ah, ok, thanks. This is shown on Christians site and looks to be from a photo Steve sent him which does not look the same as the photo in the initial post...fixer wrote:sorry if i miss lead you mine is white the same as yous and the one shown on Christians siteRob wrote:Can you show photo of yours then please, I am interested to see it in yellow if you have one.
