Why use an illustration of a car that's not even in the range? Was it an idea for a future release that never happened! It reminds me of the Japanese blister pack header cards which had models illustrated on them that weren't part of the Matchbox range. Could be MB54 Ford Capri with some add ons I guess.

Sadly the texts are not easy to read. What does the trade in mean? Is it an offer to the dealer or announcement of a campaign?

About the car used in the illustration - i guess its a kind of generic copy of the 1970 Camaro

The blister carded models were 69cents in 1970, so I reckon the 59cent price point for 1971, was to stimulate sales of the new range of 'Superfast' models.

The car in the illustration is actually a pretty good drawing of an AMX Javelin. Sorry, but I am not where I can post a picture. Matchbox did start making the #9 Javelin in 1972.
I think the #9 Javelin is a pretty model, but it took a lot of liberties versus the real car.

The drawing is not an AMX Javelin but the 1968/69 AMC AMX 2-seater.

I guess Matchbox were planning the AMX but AMX production ended in 1970 (1970 models have a different front end so it can only be a 1968/69) and Matchbox then decided to do the AMC Javelin instead which had received new styling for 1971. The high-performance versions of the Javelin were called Javelin AMX but had not much to do with the earlier 2-seater AMX.
