Can we start to include variations of the early 80's Lesney England base models here in the SF casting show?
I noticed that the header lists of models shown usually don't have all examples listed, i.e. #44 Chevy 4x4 van, #56 Peterbilt Tanker, #71 '62 Corvette.

Jason I have no objection if you want to post some images. 1981 was agreed as a cut off date for the casting show, however should you have some other 1980's 'Made in England' baseplate models that are not listed here feel free to add some images.

No Macau bases please!!

Additional to what "Motorman" says, we do have a 'Modern Matchbox' models section, if you wanted to add some stuff in there.

1982 is the year that England bases are generally associated with being manufactured up to. The 3 models Jason uses for his examples do have allocated reference numbers for them which are shown on Christians site.

4x4 Chevy Van issued 1982 in USA is 44d
Peterbilt Tanker issued 1982 USA is 56d
'62 Corvette issued 1982 USA is 71d

So my thinking is that any such England base models should just be tagged on to the end of their respective number listing that we already have, that way it makes accessing them fast and efficient as opposed to hunting through loads of posts.

Oh no, I would never post pictures of Macau base models here! But, they are just as friendly, fun, and cuddly to collect as much as the England base varis!

Agreed Rob, I have added each model to the appropriate model number in the casting show. I have coded them using Nicks codes for consistency rather than Charlie's, however I appreciate that some collectors will only use Macks variation codes.

Thanks Alex, yes, I use Macks coding as it says which SF model was issued first, second, third etc in each number category. It also keeps the SF separate from the Regs as well, rather than following on from them in one listing, which helps collectors who just collect SF, and I guess was Macks reasoning.
