Two colors on my Ghost

It is not uncommon to see a Y10 Silver Ghost with brown seats, as a result of UV or whatever influences.
But this time I found one with two different colors, the original red and the discolored brown.
Funny so I bought it.

It has always been a mystery why the rear seat fades so much more than the front seat on these models, but since the very first issues of the Y-10, the seats have been found in different shades.

The models in the above picture are the very earliest Two issues I know of. They are identified as version 1 and 1A on my code listing and in hand the seats are distinctly different shades, it will not be clear to every one here because of the different screens used to view this forum, but I can asure them that I have not just put any old Two models together for the sake of the picture.

On version 1A, the front seat is much lighter (NO Sun fade here, thank you!), than the rear seat and those in version 1. This has been the pattern all through this model's production up to the halted production at the end of 1972.

Here is a detail image from a 1970 catalogue and while the resolution is poor, you can see the different seat shades.

Thanks Kevin for your clarification.
Something in some of those seats (30+ years old) reacts to whatever they are prone to and some are less vulnerable.
But a bi-color like mine, I've never seen that before and for sure it is 100% authentic.
It is not a big thing, but I like it.

There is no doubt about those being 100% Gerrit, I have an example as well and Nick shows one in his 'Yesteryears' guide on the website. They are handy to keep just for the very reason that you have posted above about it.
