Namac swapmeet of today
Namac swapmeet of today
It was only 6 weeks since the last Namac swapmeet, and therefore the venue of today was not a very busy one.
I guess a lot of people had little coin left after the holiday season. Short supply of liquidity I presume.
Nevertheless I had made a comprehensive package deal with a seller at the previous meet, and today it was delivery time.
The five models in front are all repaints, and the black XK 140 at the back was not included, which I got for a mere 5 Euros.
Quite a lot of models to restore, which I will do with all kinds of pleasure.

You did very well, that's a real bargain. Has the Cadillac just had its roof painted? if so it may clean up. The Jag would fool me because it looks original in the photo as does the Ponty apart from the trim.

Thanks John.johnboy wrote:You did very well, that's a real bargain. Has the Cadillac just had its roof painted? if so it may clean up. The Jag would fool me because it looks original in the photo as does the Ponty apart from the trim.
The Caddy has its roof painted, no more, the rest of the car is spotless.
The red: Poor Old Nanny Thinks It's A Caddilac, is hand painted, and not too bad at all, might leave it as it is.

A further scrutiny showed a small but clear oops with one of the E types I bought.
The rear left window is all wrong.

Yep, some busy times ahead for you my friend. I would like to see Two of those Silver Shadows painted the same as our own cars, fancy doing that for us.

That is a nice idea, see what I can do. I do not have the right colors in stock.GHOSTHUNTER wrote:Yep, some busy times ahead for you my friend. I would like to see Two of those Silver Shadows painted the same as our own cars, fancy doing that for us.

I think I will start with the E types, those are the easy ones.
The Aston Martin DB 2-4 as well as The GT 40 will get wire wheels from banger Ferrari' Berlinetta's.
I am thinking of doing a pink Caddy.

Re: Namac swapmeet of today
I believe Johnboy's point was that your Cadillac appears to be far too clean of an original to completely repaint. I myself would buy it as-is to put on my "Specials shelf", but perhaps if you would code it by Nick's tables, I or another Forum member may wish to buy that variation from you for our main collection. Others here with talent may be able to carefully remove the roof paint on such a clean and desirable model as that one. Just as on full size cars, these Toys only have their original paint once. I guess in short, your model is way too "Spotless" in my opinion to be painted pink, there are plenty of other chipped up beaters to trade in against yours with it's clean original paint. A pink Caddy is a good idea, but maybe this one is too good of a candidate for a roof cleaning?? kwakers

Re: Namac swapmeet of today
I think Gerrit you should show the Caddy in more detailed pictures for those that do have several examples of this model, they can then see what version it is and if it is a particularly hard one to find, that way it will help with coding the model.

Whether it wll be the one I bought today or the one I got at the previous Namac of November is still open.Ecclesley wrote:I am thinking of doing a pink Caddy.GHOSTHUNTER wrote:Yep, some busy times ahead for you my friend.
