D is for D-Type, Jaguar that is

Post by Tinman »

Somewhere down the line, this little guy went into the paint shop and got a fresh coat of green. Then came nice red paint job. That was followed by a shiny coat of gold paint. Long after receiving its final coat of Robin's Egg blue, it was dumped on the bay.

The expert team at Sunshine State Restorations (OK, one old curmudgeon guy in a residential garage) went to work and now she's ready for the next vintage class race day.

Delicious, you know of course these are better than anything Lesney could do, because the bare castings have had much better preparation, proper priming and a decent paint finish, done at a more leisurely pace than a full production process in a noisy dust filled factory...

Kevin, I should hire you to write all the text (or ad copy) for my ebay sales!

Think of my restored models like a Rolls; each one is hand built by one craftsman (if I may be so bold as to call myself that). I even make my own roundel decals. :)

Thank you very much. There are some castings that I just love to work with and this is one of them.

The first picture shows the world famous chameleon D Type, a rare variant.
Followed by one very serious and quality executed restoration.
I like it very much!!
