During last year's "Best Finds" poll, some comments were made regarding the categories used, most notably the need for a pre-production/colour trial category, to which I then added the suggestion of a restoration/custom category. Obviously, at the moment, the end of 2016 couldn't be further away, but could we decide now which categories we would like to see used for 2016's poll?
To get the debate started, let me suggest:
1) Pre-1970 Lesney (i.e. no low-friction wheels),
2) Low friction wheel Lesney,
3) Pre-1970 non-Lesney (i.e. no low-friction wheels),
4) Non-Lesney not falling into Category 3 above,
5) Colour trials and pre-productions (all makes and time periods), and
6) Customs and restorations (all makes and time periods).

These look to cover all bases quite clearly
And with any luck will encourage more members to post entries and vote

I am happy with that list Hugh. Keeping colour trials and prepros away from standard production models makes great sense.

The one question I wonder is where the 1970's Yesteryears fall; are they 'low friction'?

Pre-73 'Yesteryear' models.
Post-73 'Yesteryear' models.

1973 being the changeover period from metal wheels with narrow section tyres to plastic wheels with wider section tyres.

Perhaps in this category there could be provision for a BEFORE and AFTER photo.
