What is it?

It came with 2 Crescent mechanics, is diecast, has no makers name, and was listed as possibly an air pump. The lack of any attempt to model cables or fittings and the dial face make me think it's a clock, possibly of a type specific to railways or garages. The stylised 'G' on the front looks vaguely familiar to me from the 1:1 world but I can't think where. Any help appreciated.

Is it just a "G" or is it a "G" and an "I"?

Good question, I suppose it could be either. I've looked through a good few automobilia sites and found nothing close. Maybe it's railway in which case that's yet another new 'sub-collection' for me as I do rather like it!

Is there a country of origin marking? It does look very much like something you'd see in a train station. Beyond that, all I can offer is the repetition that it's a neat piece.

No country of origin marking but I expect it's British. It's just over 2 inches in height.

Does it have any inner workings that have a manufacturers name on it. How was the clock powered?

It looks a bit art deco with the angular design. I don't know who would have made it, but maybe it's platform furniture, or from a dolls house/playset? I like it though.
