New 8a variation?

I am cataloging my models regarding to Nick's guide.
I have two 8a models. One is yellow with type B engine (closed at rear only), with yellow driver and black hat. There is no such kind of variation on Nick's guide. There are 3 possibilities.
1- This model is repainted/not genuine
2- This model manufactured in early stages without painting the driver to red (unlikely because trim is silver)
3- Model manufactered and painted at later stages with an older cast.
Here is the discussion about authenticity of model in the other topic.

There are some other pictures in the link. Here is a picture showing engine type.
And also the other 8a model fits with code 6 on Nick's guide. But there is a hole/gap behind drivers legs.
Do any other collector have this kind of models?

Burak

There is not much interest to this topic. I was surprised when I find a new variation but I think there are a lot more.
I am keep checking my models regarding to Nick's guide. I am at 20 yet. Here are the list of some more not mentioned variations:
1- 8a Tractor : Yellow body, yellow driver with black hat, silver grill, type B engine(closed at rear only)
2 - 8a Tractor: Orange body. Same as code 6. Have hole behind the drivers leg.
3- 9b Dennis Fire Escape: Same as code 6 but flat head axles (need confirmation)
4- 10c Sugar Container Truck: Same as code 18 but with body line
5- 17c Austin Taxi Cab: Same as code 1 but light/pale gray interior(not sure because not have any other model to compare)
6- 19d Lotus Racing Car: Orange body. Same as code 10 or 11 but "with extension ring and mixed text"
7- 19d Lotus Racing Car: Green body with decals. Same as code 2 or 3 but "without extension ring and small text"
And also I found another example of new code 5 18b CAT bulldoser with light/lemon yellow doser blades.
I can put some pictures later if anyone interests. Will continue to check my other models. There are 55 series more to check.

Burak

Find a 24 c fits to code 7 with an ejector ring between the boot hinges. Not mentioned on Nick's guide but fits with code 9 on Houghton's guide.
By the way not sure where to post pictures. To this topic or different topics for each? Or under the casting show?

Thank's Reg. I believe the boot ejector ring (circle), has been discussed somewhere on the forum, but can not find it at the moment (Hugh is good at this

), but Nick certainly does not mention it in the 'Code Listing' for #24c.
According to my own listing for #24c, it appears on models introduced during 1969, so these are examples with all the casting modifications...
Large base rivet head.
Low boot-hinge cut-outs.
Full towing facility at the front.
Patent number on baseplate.
Rear wheel-arch inner braces.
Cherry Red body colour.
Matt Black baseplate colour.

I think it was discussed in depth on Lefora, but there is further discussion
here.

I will start to post pictures. I am wrong about 7)19 d green Lotus. It has extension ring.
Still curiously waiting comments about 8a models from veteran collectors.
