Keep catologing my models regarding to Nick's guide.

I have 2 8a models. Yellow one came 9 years ago from collect-a-toy, England with C8-9 box. Orange one came from DTE without box.

Yellow model with yellow driver and black hat. Have 9 mm metal rollers, green 24 tread tracks like the other one. But looks newer. May be replacement. Have silver trim as shown below(orange one have gold trim).

But problem is model have B type engine closed at rear only. There is no such kind of variation neither at Nick's guide nor at Houghton. Axles are flat head / crimped. But crimped axles are longer than orange one. Paint looks flawless to me but not sure. Is this a not described variation or repainted model?

Unless I misunderstand your statement, I think you are not interpreting the description correctly. The first area to close in was behind the engine. The next area to close in was on the top forward half of the engine (along with the rear portion of the engine) and then all infill followed.

Just looked at my records again. Yellow model came from DTE without box.

I think my model is type B, so closed at rear only.

8a models with type B engine (closed at rear only) described with yellow models with red drivers and orange models only. There is no variation with type B engine with yellow model with yellow driver and black hat.

By the way I realised at photo orange model have a hole/gap behind drivers legs. Yellow model and other model pictures at website does have not that hole.

I see what you're saying now. It could be due to many things, like the die parts not being tightly together, too high of pressure and it could also be paper thin flash. I've knocked out odd looking closed in areas on these with a dental pick. At first they looked closed in, turned out to be flash that was paper thin. One thing we do know, as the tools wore, all sorts of odd things happened at random.

It could also be something as simple as a random tin of tractor bodies being finished at a later date. I've seen 18a's that had the back upper part open. So, if it is solid and can't be poked out with a pick, it's a code worthy variation.

Thanks for your comments Joe. What I understand is you see no problem with the model. In this case it may be a new variation. I will move this issue to another topic.
