This is another "rescue" from the same batch as the Model A Ford. It's a Tootsietoy 'GM Series', which I do collect. But I have another dozen of these and didn't really need it. Which is good, because it's a problem child. In addition to the repaint, one of the axle mounts on the body is broken. I mended it and it seemed very stable but came loose again within an hour or so of the photo below. Rather than trying to patch the break, I'm going to have to bond a long flat piece of metal connecting the two halves. This car originally had a red body and yellow chassis so I brought it back to that spec. It had to be completely repainted because I had also soaked this one too long in brake fluid. this series of cars used six colors interchangably. I've devised formulas for three of them, and fortunately red and yellow are among them. I'm particularly proud of the wheels. This car had later black oxide wheels and I converted them to an earlier spec gold because I thought it worked better with the yellow chassis.
