1-75 Screenshots

I'm working out of Vietnam and got way too much time on my hands. I only have my Blue Dunlop Commer van with me as the rest of my modest collection remains in Melbourne.
Consequently I have collated a "virtual collection". Nearly every 1-75 has been sequentially collected - by photo - filed and stored.
I can put my models together anyway I like, mixing series 1 and 2.
Never forgetting they are toys to begin with I put together this "farm set."
There are some obvious models; the cattle truck and two horse transporters. The combine harvester and naturally the tractor trailer combos. Not sure if the Landrover is military or not but we'll call it ex- MOD and place it on the farm. Couldn't imagine a British farm without a horse trailer and the bigger Landrover.
I've since done another version of this that includes the 50 Commer beige pick up - or from Australia we would say "ute" for utility.
BTW did you know the world's first ute was designed in Geelong at the Ford factory, outside of Melbourne?
Not sure about the red Jeep - maybe they could experiment with an American ute. The dog carrier not outta place - maybe they run a few kennels on the side.

Nice idea and I like the photo presentation.
Sure that members could suggest some possible themes - most obvious is military.
A great excuse to get out the models and have a play, which is all they were ever designed for.
Look forward to future themes.

Very nice idea! A lovely way to keep the Lesney furnace fired even when away from home.
Some other potential themes:
Race track
commercial vehicles
construction vehicles
automobiles: sports cars, convertibles, family transportation
British vehicles
Mainland European vehicles
American vehicles

I have a file that represents my virtual collection of pre-pros and colour trials , always a pleasure to view with no cash investment required - virtual collections dont get dusty or take up space yet the models can be viewed in great detail much larger than life so I must agree , virtual collections are worthwhile and have plenty to recommend them

I have my collection on a website
http://www.darkens.net.nz/index.html.
Started off as a family site but gradually got taken over by models
.
Slowly renumbering in line with Nick's guide & updating photos.
Easy way to share with friends and fellow collectors.

Repackaged nicely as a sixteen frame set. Eighteen models with pair of tractor - trailers. Naturally the Commer ute would be on any 50s British farm. Added the the Studebaker and gunman to take care of some feral pests.

I love open air motoring. Put up with an MGB years ago and now own a pair of MX5 Mazdas. Love the wind in the hair experience, Summer nights, pretty girl and the sixties soundtrack on the stereo. Always hankered after a Mustang. Now they're factory built Right Hand Drive, may have one last V8 left in me. After the first purchaser has copped the depreciation.
In the above pic we have the four door Zephyr. I love the Pontiac - look they are straight from a Dallas motorcade. Normally wouldn't include two of the same model but cannot choose between the pair. Saw an absolutely fabulous yellow Pontiac on VBD with glossy black wheels. Better than real life.
Also saw a Mercedes, perhaps from Tinman with D Type Jag wire wheels fitted. Fantastic.

And a nice site it is too Rodger - I often use it for reference purposes when sitting in the barber's shop checking models - I cross reference with Nicks Site, Stannard and Schiffer where possible and try to include these details when writing up pages for my own
web site
