I have two early Corgi Classic Model T here, a blue & a yellow. Both are in reasonable shape (they weren't as sturdy and so got less play), but both lack windshields. Replacements are not made to my knowledge. Before I begin lobbying for re-manufacture, I wanted to figure out how easy they are to replace. The answer seems to be "not very".

It appears that the windshield is affixed to the dashboard (metal?) and stuffed into a slot. That would make for easy replacement except that the dash has tenacious grip and I cannot pry it loose from either model. The task is more difficult by that fact that I cannot remove the front seat either. Would that Matchbox Yesteryear seats be so well attached. Collector value on these cars seems to be about nil but it seems a shame not to fix them up.

Could be fitted with a barb-type construction (like the Matchbox 39b and 50b Tractor steering wheels). This design makes the component an easy push fit during assembly, but nigh on impossible to pull out in one piece!
