Hi all, had a strange phone call the other day it sounded a bit funny as it was a computer voice, it rang again said it was the fraud department at Lloyds bank. I went down to my bank gave them the phone number they tried phoning the number which would not connect, she then rang the fraud department who had bee trying to contact me, somebody had hacked into me paypal account via ebay, they had spent over £2,000 at places I don't use. The computer picked it up & put some of the payments pending but one for £800 had been paid, made us feel really sick. Lloyds are trying to get my money back, it has now been handed over to the police Pete

Hi all managed to get some of the money back. The cheeky Bs had actually brought something very expensive from John Lewis & had a taxi on my expense to pick it up Pete

I get those kind of e-mails regularly. As with all such scams, do not use the embedded link in the e-mail. Instead, go to the website in question and log in using the normal route. If there’s a problem, the website will tell you.

Very sorry to hear that Pete, scamming is absolutely rife. I hope you recover all the money and try not to let it affect you personally. Do you know any details about how it happened? because a friend of mine had something similar a year or two back and it came down to some nasty key-logging critters on his laptop.
