#34 VW Rare E-Box on Ebay

Post by numi »

Hi All,
Please tell me whats your take/thoughts on the condition of this rare Vw Camper E-Box and is the end price of 349gbp ($540) justifiable.FTBPW Camper in excellent condition.
To me this is worthless cardboard with torn hinges, cracked hinges, heavy handling wear and creases. This is sheer waste of good money!
I could be wrong as we all collect for different reasons.
Thanks in advance.

One cannot do much with all the monies in this world but can do much more if he strives toward contentment.

Difficult to justify high prices for tatty items, but Vectis sold this one...

...and this one for...

I would wait for a better example box and hope the model inside is just as good.

I guess it depends on how long you are prepared to wait around for a nicer box that is cheaper - that could well be forever. This box is not at all common, and I believe that being a VW Kombi, it has a much broader collecting appeal beyond purely Matchbox collectors.

Cheers,

Exactly.
Iconic cars or famous car brands (watching Dinky or Corgi markets) are still worth more than unknown models even if corresponding toys are scarce.
Corgi-toys ergo sum
