Corgi Left-Overs

Post by Viewfield »

Here are a couple of Corgi's left-over from my sell-off. I have started to display again and am amazed at how much is still left in various boxes etc. When selling my collection I didn't get rid of everything, I put (small) boxes to one side with models that I particularly liked, these are some of them.

2 x Batmobile and one Bat Boat, I am pretty sure the one at the front is mat black, someone has touched-up the edges with shiny paint

Two models "aquired" later.

Hi viewfield,

Love the Mercedes-Benz 600, looks to be in very good condition, shame about the three pointed star missing from the grille top, a common problem with these classy cars, you know what its like, you trundle off down to tesco's for your buns and beer etc, and when you get back to your car, someone has swiped your mascot.

A price us high rollers have to pay...!!!

Yes, a matt black, (more of a satin black), Batmobile was available as one of many, many versions and yours has the first rubber tyres fitted, making it an early issue, quite a nice example.

Glad you have kept some models back, maybe you will add some more to them and start a big collection.

Best regards,
GHOSTHUNTER.

I've been there, collected mainly Matchbox "Yesteryears" with quite a sprinkling of Corgi and Dinky. Sent them to auction to concentrate on my 1:1's, old habits die hard as the saying goes and I still mourn a bit after my collection.

OK viewfield, understand and with a 1:1 Silver Shadow, that's no bad thinking.

We were in touch before over Rolls-Royce, on the 'LEFORA' forum, I have the yellow Silver Shadow II and come to think of it, are we the only two members with a real Rolls-Royce car ?

Be seeing you, GHOSTY.

Hallo Misterpop,
Did I read somewhere your from Manchester (or was it Rochdale?)
Being Born and bred in Rochdale and now living in Germany you are most welcome to visit and have a drive in my Silver Shadow.
Best time to visit is around October, then the new wine has been harvested and in it's "raw state" is quite interesting. Cannot do both though, new wine and driving do not mix!

How to get in a Rolls...

Likewise misterpop,

The invite is also open from my neck of the woods and no disrespect to where Viewfield lives, but Buckinghamshire is a little bit closer to you than Germany.

Maybe we can meet halfway at somewhere like Gaydon Motor Museum, we will have to sort something out.
