I found this one on ebay from a not known seller and considering to buy. What do you think? Is it genuine? Do I have to ask more photos?

The style of photography fits with that of a known faker called Eric Jonkers of Barendrecht in The Netherlands. He has multiple accounts on Ebay, with the names normally based on either 'evianne' or 'egjeric'

I do not understand why this would be a new variation. Violet body, cream interior, red steering wheel, gray plastic wheels. Isn't that fit with code 2 in Nick's variation list?

And also rivets, axles all are looking good to me. How can I recognize fake one with genuine one?

If this model is being sold by evianne, I would strongly recommend that you look elsewhere for two reasons:
1) Anything he sells is tainted. It may be genuine, it may not be. It may be mint, it may be touched-up. You simply don't know what you are getting for your money with this seller.
2) As a hobby, we should all boycott known fakers. The only way to drive them out of the hobby is to hit them where it hurts - in the pocket. If he has no sales, he will quickly move on to selling fakes in another area of collecting.

I agree with "Idris", it does not matter how good or genuine the model looks and anything added to the model regards spoken words or printed comments, it is coming from an unreliable source.

If you want to take the risk and buy something from this unreliable source, then that is your choosing, but it will then encourage the faker to put the Money (your Money), into producing more fakes to be passed on to another collector for more hard earned Money!

By not buying his items, we are starving a source of funding to him.

GHOSTHNTER.

I agree with you. I will not buy it. Thanks for warning. Really appreciate it.

I am not buying any models for about 9 years after I married. I bought most of my models from trusted sellers like zendada, RWC, collect-a-toy, Vectis USA, DTE, modelstore etc. Especially hard to find ones. Just bought a few models more a week ago from RWC again.

I was thinking to buy a few hard to find models from ebay. I intentionally bought a few repainted models before just to understand fake ones. I just feel bad because I really do not see anything wrong with this model. I have a lot to learn.

I think Jason was earlier referring to the tread count. Code 2 is listed with 20 tread GPW and this has 24 tread I think.

Spot on John, alarm bells should ring straight away in my opinion. If the seller is also in question then definitely keep away.
