Horace Dunkley in Hospital.

If by any chance any MOYBOYZ live in and around the Peterborough area Horace's wife would like it if you could go and visit him in Hospital. He is in need of some support from friends he is not doing well at all.

Members of 'MOYBOYZ' (Mick Flack's 'Yesteryear' forum), have been aware of the ill health of Horace Dunkley for several Months now, and Andrew ("Raftender"), has just posted the above message for help with visitors for Horace.

I have asked Andrew for the Hospital's address via 'PM', if we have forum members living close to the Hospital, please consider a visit, but let me know via 'PM' that you can do this, because we don't want any Tom, Dick or Harry turning up and annoying the Hospital staff claiming to be a friend of Mr Dunkley.

I have been to the Hospital Today to see Mr Horace Dunkley and he was looking quite sprightly and had quite a lot to say and he was smiling during my visit and asking Jen his lovely Wife was he comfortable, she said yes he seems to be and he does get up some Days and gets dressed (this is just for the nice Nurses I'm sure...!).

He has a card from us all and Jen has given me permission to post the picture below.



I enjoyed my visit, it is the first time I had met Mr Dunkley, but not my last, I told Jen I will visit again and as I was leaving a couple of Nurses turned up to get Mr Hunkley out of bed and dressed, so it seems he is having quite a full Day today.

What a very nice gesture on your part to visit Mr. Dunkley.
I'm sure it was most appreciated by him and his wife , sounds like he enjoyed having your company there.

Next time your there you'll have to put a "Nurses Lounge" sign, on the outside of his door

I phoned his wife Jenny when this post was first listed, she said he was not to good but I can see by your visit to him he is much better thank you for taking the time to visit him Kev.

Every time I went to UK I would see him at the Mica conventions and at many toy fairs, where Jenny would have her home made Teddy Bears
for sale.

Dear Kevin,
When I read the header of the post, I somehow remembered the name but could not really place it.
By searching back I found out that he is the man of the huge YY Vectis auction of some years ago.
Being a YY fan myself, I feel for Mr. Dunkley and hope that he will recover as best as possible.
Kevin you are a good man to pay him a visit in the hospital, my compliments.

I am sure any one of you would have done the same if the circumstances came together at the right time and on this occasion, for me they did, as it seemed a toy fair was halfway between my home and the Hospital.

I told Jenny I would visit again and I intend to carry on if I can, until Horace is well enough to go home, Jen has told him he has to come home and finish building a model railway he had on the go!
