I love finding rare and hard to find models.

Post by Brad Pittiful »

but why do i keep finding the same ones? and at ridiculously low prices...so they are hard to pass up and i am the only bidder

just picked up another GPW #57 land rover fire truck and another #16 scammel snow plough with open/closed step

now onto cataloging them to see if i have a new or needed variation!
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

...and yes, there are some folks round my area who have never seen #57 with GPW, so you'd better send one my way, please Dan...

Hello Dan,
Can you tell us if this one has the small braces on the tipper pivot support stands like Jason has shown in the 16c open step unlisted thread please.
Thanks

Like Dan, I love finding rare and hard to find variations. Quite clearly however, there is a genuine method that some, like Dan have developed that allows for the unearthing of these otherwise obscure ebay posts that so many of us miss. Well done again Dan and so nice of you to share the wealth when you do come up with duplicates.

I do agree that hard to find models that go for good prices are the best to find.... I just got a #41 yellow ford GT40 for a really good price and a red fiat 1500 too. It proves that you can be lucky getting some rare models for cheap, but you need to look for them!

They are out there but you need to look . Like Dans gems i just scored a 31b fairlane for 5 Euro ? I'd be happy to buy a nice green 31b model for that . I actually forgot to raise my bid and forgot about it . The next time i see it it's in my won items . You can be lucky . Its like , bid high but only on a few (just in case you win , you can afford it ) or , bid low on heaps of models and maybe score one or two a week . :D
