Photo showing front of 38a?
Photo showing front of 38a?
I searched the entire forum including Nick's variation guide and no where can I find anything but side shots of the 38a. Anyone have any pics showing the silver trim detail on the front? While a great resource, "the casting show" is the worst offender for having minimal photos and often only one view of a model. I remember the "casting show" on the mcch and it was loaded with various angles of each model including the base, we have nothing like that on the VBD.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

Re: Possible variation Photo showing front of 38a?
Hello Ghosty and Tinman,
don't know if this is an optical illusion but when I checked my 38 to upload the trim picture for Tinman it looks like my grille top is curved where Ghosty's is triangular.
Could just be the way the trim is applied.

I think it's just the way the trim paint makes it look.

I agree, its just the way these particular examples have been painted. At least 4 Ladies sat together at the flow-line painting these models by hand and while they would have been given guidelines as to what should or should not be painted, they will of course interpret this differently.

On my Casting Show I do put the model variation guide for every body who wants to see it can, and as the Silver Trim is only applied to the Grille and bumper I did not think it was necessary to show the fronts .
Here are the fronts Grey with Silver Trim and the Silver model that did not need the Silver Trim as the model was all ready Silver.
But notice how bright the Silver Trim is on the Grey model against the Silver Model

Well Joe I was the one who did the casting show on the MCCH and lots of members would post their models and variations on it.
But alas I guess that members don't want to or cannot be bothered to contribute to Casting Show I put on, on Nicks Site, with the exception of Fintail who always posts on each model. there were many good and reliable collectors on the MCCH, but for some reason they never came over to Nicks site even though it was well documented and listed on the MCCH site mores the pity as they showed many variations.
I wonder where these great collectors are now ?

Hello kerbside,
sorry i have overlooked casting show as a place to post.
i have viewed that thread many many times and will include it as a place to post in the future.
there are so many options for posting and sometimes it's a 'heads or tails' toss to decide which thread is best suited.
Dont think for one moment that the casting show thread is not greatly appreciated and enjoyed.

I see the 'Casting Show' as a reference section so tend not to post in there as most of my observations are semi-reference and gay banter type postings. When and if I can get my arse into gear, I will attempt to add something referncey about Rolls-Royce and post it in there.
