is this a genuine silver #46 I got with a cheeky bin offer the other day
it all looks good to me even with chiselled rivets the interior is more of an ivory shade than normal issues

Looks good to me Reg but showing up pale silvery blue on my monitor.Those chiesel-cut rivets look good enough to be R&D so this is certainly an excellent cheeky buy

you are correct it does have a bluish tint to the paint

Rivits look like they may never have been spun -wonder if its standard metallic blue that has been bleached or is the grain different?

My only comment would be that R&D chiselling tends to be two quick strikes across the rivet, giving four cuts. These chisel marks look a bit neat.
However, I think the balance of probability is that it's genuine.

the paint is very evenly coloured even in the concealed areas inside doors and under wheel arches it also has a smoother appearance to the paint compared to my blue one which as Mick says has a grainy look

I agree chisel cuts I have seen before have 4 cuts this appears to have a small dot opposite one of the cuts and they look very even with each other (was the chisel /stamp used a one piece tool with a 4 way head or did they use a flat one and strike twice)
the only casting difference I can see is the lack of a rivet post for the window insert although there is a hole for it in the plastic

Does the colour match the RW44a?? I havent seen a RW46 without a roof rivit post before, has anyone else? They can be spun on greens but usually not spun on blues. Casting difference like this is best way to prove pre-pro status. Looking at the paint on the rivit it is odd that it is painted only in the centre if unspun -had aquick look at my standards and can see this rivit is rather small for the standard rivit hole so lack of paint on edge and circular distortion could indicate a previous baseplate removed
