Reg, do all those chips and scratches appear behind the decal or do they go through the decal.

I also notice what appear to be little tails running away from the main White areas of the printing, something you get from 'Screen Printing' if the ink is of the wrong consistancy, something that can be seen on the 'Yesteryear' Vans from 1978 onwards.

Imagine a Pizza advert on TV where they pick up a section and the Cheese goes stringy and stretches into long 'Tails'. This happens in 'Screen Printing' and to some 'Tampo' printed artwork where the ink is too dry for proper printing and it tends to do the same as that Cheese, then it snaps and the residue falls back onto the surface of the model to leave little 'Tails' of ink spilling over the edges of each large letter.

Look along the tops of each letter and it looks uneven as if the White ink is spilling over the edges.

I see what you mean now

I am not sure if it can happen on original decals from the period of this model's production. Having grown up with many decals through my kit bashing Days, I can not say I have ever noticed it on them before. Even if the decals are modern reproductions, why is still only a Two-Line design ?

I'm unaware of anyone who is producing silk screen two line replacement decals.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
