Hi All,
this is my first post.
I would like to show my last purchase: a Corgi John Steed's Bentley in red (without box, unfortunately) in good used conditions with strange lighthouses (...?)...strange but I like it.
Glad to be in this interesting forum, I love the British Die Cast of the 60s,especially the Corgi Toys.
(my first toy and my first love in 1968 was the Corgi Batmobile....now lost,of course)
Best wishes
Gheo

Re: My first post and John Steed's Red Bentley
Hello Gheo, welcome to the forum and a very big thank you for posting one of my favourite model cars, a Bentley.
The example you have shown has had the original headlamps (lighthouses) drilled out and 'Jewels' glued in place, not original but looks OK, especially as the Corgi Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost issued in the same range later did have similar light units from new.

Interesting , I didnt spot the aftermarket jewels although now its pointed out I know that the Corgi factory always fitted them mounted in a plastic sleeve to ensure the mirror sparkle effect
Re: My first post and John Steed's Red Bentley
Those original Corgi Classics were really nicely done. Whoever added the jewelled headlights did a great job, and add a nice touch, even if purists may frown!

Hi,
I am not a "purist", (unfortunately) I have a small CORGI collection
,I like to buy preferably near mint models (have also traded in the past some corgi and dinky models with very well know UK dealers).
cheers
