None of the NAMC’s “Catalog of all Series Matchbox Models” (second edition), the AIM “1-75 Series Regular Wheels” catalogue (second printing, 1983), Houghton and Stannard list any models not already covered by Nick, although AIM and NAMC do list four colours whilst Nick list only two:
- Metallic pinkish-tan (NAMC) = metallic pinkish-tan (AIM) = metallic mauve (NicK)
- Metallic light tan (NAMC) = metallic light tan (AIM) = metallic mauve (Nick)
- Metallic dark grey (NAMC) = metallic grey (AIM) = silver grey (Nick)
- Metallic very light grey (NAMC) = metallic silver grey (AIM) = silver grey (Nick)
It is interesting that the NAMC and AIM colour categorisations throw up the same metallic mauve/metallic tan distinction we have previously discussed regarding the 23c Bluebird Dauphine caravan. Both NAMC and AIM catalogue the non-metallic pinkish-tan models as having BPW.
U.K. Matchbox did not examine the model.
In addition, George (Kerbside) showed us a new baseplate variation. Since no catalogue has previously logged it, I assume that the baseplate was changed either very early or very late in the model's life, but which is it and which variations come with which baseplate?
