C.A.R.S. ~ The Vintage Garage

Hello everyone,
Decided to start a thread to share my vintage diecast collection, which is just beginning and is
very small. Back in the late 60's my Dad was editor of a publication / newsletter called "C.A.R.S." or
Collectors Automotive Replica Society, out of California. So it was only a matter of time before the vintage diecast
bug bit me. I started a little blog website to bring the memory of the newsletter back to life and also share my collection.

Youtube Channel is also underway / developing :

Excellent stuff! Checked out the tube clip and the blog. Nice to see some variety, and to be reminded of some of my old collection (long gone) of foreign diecasts.

I enjoyed reading your blog, and the stop motion film is brilliant! I look forward to seeing some more of those! How long does it take to make a film like that?
I also really like the driver in your Atlantic - very characterful.

Thank you, its been a lot of fun putting the blog together and kind of doing a modern version of my Dad's newsletter, makes you appreciate how different the world was
back in the days without internet. Those simple text newsletters were the main source of news and information in this part of the world back in the 60's. Now its of course instant and
you see detailed color photos before the model is even released. I'm not sure which way I prefer it.
The stop motion films don't take as much time to make as you might think, unless of course you are doing a very long one. This first one is just a short "trailer" for future films, and
took about 250 individual pictures, and about 2 + hours to complete, including minor editing - sound effects, all made easy with digital photography ! just imagining the amount of film
required to make these type of sequences is amazing to think about before digital came along.
I like to add figures to my models for photos when possible, just adds a little life, this one was intended for 7mm o scale and picked up off ebay cheap with a dozen similar types.

Hi Felix,
your Videos are really nice especially the one in front of "cafe de cars".
There is a link to a third one - could we have a look at this as well?

Hi Felix, I think I commented on your work on another forum so I am pleased you have brought it here. Do please keep posting even if you run out of videos, we still want to see your models, so this could be a very nice, long thread, welcome to the forum.

Thanks, actually I'm been doing some work on future stop motion videos, have a few ideas in mind and they will be much longer and
hopefully improved. I enjoy it so much, as it adds another dimension to the collecting !
