The MCCH web site is officially Dead!

Mr. Mark Curtis has finally made an announcement about the fate of the MCCH.
Up until now, the web site has been offline for several months with no real information provided by Mr Curtis. He has announced that HE WILL NOT BE REBUILDING THE SITE. The MCCH web discussion forum is officially dead.
While this will come as a surprise to only a few, those few always have the option to join his farcebook page. I recommend that those who are interested in serious discussions and sharing of information join here at Nick's Vintage British Diecast!

Wow. What a surprise....NOT !
It reminds me that The Vintage Lesney Online site (The Box site!) has never been down since I joined Nick on the Vintage British Diecast. Back in the days of the MCCH, there was always strange excuses for the site to be down and, according to the Administrator, it was... my fault! Needless to say that he never really took the time to take care of things, as the Box page old address was still suggested in his links page, two years after it was brought down by Mark himself.
The funniest excuse was that the whole site was hacked because the box site was made with MS Front Page. When you don't know what you are talking about, you'll just say anything !
Facebook is just not the right medium for that kind of thing. Unless you want to bother everyone with Candy Crush.
Best thing would be that fellow collectors join Nicks' Vintage British Diecast.
Just the best place to be. And it works all the time !

When porno pictures were hot linked to Nick's site, they lead right back to Mr. Curtis' computer. His excuse was that "advertising on Nick's site had caused the photo's to be linked to Nick's forum pages."
Mark first removed a photo of a screen capture, which he posted on his own site and deleted his own post (from his own site). Next, he used the file name for the screen capture photo and assigned it to a porno photo. He went to a lot of trouble to hot link porno to nick's site but failed to hide the fact that it was coming from his own photo bucket account.
The mcch log showed that "Administer" (which is Mark Curtis) had deleted his own post, with the screen capture photo, right before the porno showed up on Nick's forum via the hot link.
I confronted him with all the facts and his reply was "advertising caused it all." I told him to his face what kind of disgusting person he is and that was the last time I ever spoke to him. When it comes to excuses, his lies are just ridiculous.

I must say I liked the site. I learnt a lot there. I came here though in search of the members that use to be there and vanished!
A bit disappointing to know it's "dead" and only find that out here.
Well I guess you guys are stuck with me now!!!

All joking and schadenfreude aside, yes, it is very sad that a site like the MCCH with all its history and background should suddenly wink out of existence in such an inglorious fashion.
However, rather like Charles II, it has been a most unconscionable time dying and, as the result of long-term mismanagement by its leading light, Mark Curtis, ultimately became a mere shadow of what it once was (and could have been).

Its a shame but not unexpected, there were some really good people on there.
I enjoyed my time there mostly, but became more frustrated with him since all the crap over the Gathering happened a few years back. I was no longer welcome after speaking out about certain things.
but like the saying goes you reap what you sow.......

MCCH ceased to be of any real value when they wwwiped out their excellent 10 year archive about 4 years ago
