Last friday, may 15th, I visited the modelcar exhbition in the museum "De Koperen Knop" in the Dutch village Hardinxveld-Giesendam.
This exhbition runned from march 7rd till last saturday may 16th,
A few weeks ago, the appointment was made between me and 3 collectorfriends to visit this exhibtion and to visit another exhbition of wooden ADO toys later that day in the Dutch village of De Bilt.
Report and photos of the ADO exhbition can be found in this tread:

Because both exhibitions were opened only after 11:00 we first drove to Kinderdijk to visit some Dutch Heritage; the famous 17 windmills of Kinderdijk. After a walk and coffee we drove to Hardinxveld-Giessendam to visit the modelcar exhbition. The "Koperen Knop_ museum is a 17th century farmhouse, including a historic courtyard, a vegetable garden and a forge where you could get infromation of the residents of the Alblasserwaard area. On arrival we immediately met Paul Bacon, one of the NAMAC members. He manned a table to provide information to visitors and was building a Heller kit.
The exhibition of Dinky Toys Corgi Toys, Lledo, Vanguards, Matchbox, Siku, Solido, Cougar, Pilen, Fleischman, Tekno, Lion Car, Scalextric and much more was not that big but was lovely. There were more models on display then I thought. According to the museum flyer this was a Dinky Toys exhbition which seems a logical thing for most visitors because the brandname Dinky Toy was used as a kind of generic name for all modelcars. This was precisely why the exhibition was well worth visiting. The collection of miniatures in the glasscabinets gave a wonderful picture of what we as a collector are so proud and happy with. At the entrance there was a completely wood-built crane, with blocks hung to keep everything in balance. We also made a visit to the former forge and spent more than two hours at the museum before we drove to the exhibition ADO in the Dutch village of De Bilt.
It was a very successful day. When you were unable to visit this you have missed something, because both exhibits closed last saturday may 16th.
Some of the photos I took at the modelcar exhbition.
I took a lot of photos in the museum. The remaning photos can be viewed here:
