At the weekend I was at the Simply Ford event at Beaulieu Motor Museum, exhibiting with the local model club I belong to. Most members are into the detailed modern releases, so I made a diorama of older diecast as a contrast. All the vehicles are Fords of course. We were in a large gazebo, which was good for keeping the weather out, but the floor was a bit bouncy, which has led to the Capri rolling back into the Thames camper! I'm not sure which section to post this in, as there is a selection of makes included, but most of them are British.
Very nice Fred, Although I don't collect Corgi's I have always admired them, And I love the Anglia Ice Cream van, What most people don't know is on the real vehicle the ice cream salesman would lift out a removable panel in the floor and stand on the ground to give himself more headroom.
And who is that masked character with the swag bag coming out of the bank?. .......Oh silly me, It's the bank manager lol.
Awesome display Fred! I'm a big Ford fan and have a modern one as my daily driver - it's a fantastic car. Still lots of old Fords on the road here in NZ - saw a MkIII Cortina driving around this morning as it happens!
I'm trying to remember who sold me that caramel Cortina...
interesting about the Anglia ice cream van, Nick. The Corgi model doesn't have any room for a man to stand inside, and they provided a vendor to stand outside. However my example didn't come with the vendor so presumably the customers in my diorama have to help themselves!
