The NAMC’s “Catalog of all Series Matchbox Models” (second edition) notes a variation to the centre panel directly above the front windows of the second-type body casting. which can be either raised or recessed. According to NAMC, the recessed version came first, covering all the blue models plus the SPW and kGPW green models. The Beales-Bealesons is listed with a raised panel.
The AIM “1-75 Series Regular Wheels” catalogue (second printing, 1983) notes the existence of light and dark GPW, as does Houghton.
Houghton is the only catalogue to contain the two-line green Pickfords but, unlike Nick who lists the wheels as 9.5 x 20 GPW, Houghton has them as 9 x 20 GPW. Does this reflect as measurement error by someone, or does it provide evidence of the two-line labels having been applied to green models from two different batches post factory?
Stannard lists no models not already covered by Nick.
U.K. Matchbox did not examine the model, but Reg Miles of Scale Models did pen an article (to be found in volume 3, no. 1 (May '79) p49) on the Beales-Bealesons promotional.
