Is this car a real yesteryear ?

My partner has recently been given some of his childhood things and among them was this box with the die cast car attached to the top with screws via two base plates I think they are called they are attached to the car, the says its a Matchbox Y-14 Model 1911 Maxwell Roadster Models of Yesteryear but the only ones we could find where turquoise and we where wondering if anyone could give is any more information

Its a giftware item - models were coated with aluminium and then given a coat of either clear or amber lacquer - silver or gold model. Came on many pieces of different gift items from trays to boxes and value in this condition is a couple of quid only.
