reading this months Diecast Collector I came across a worrying letter
the author reported an ebay scam which was the sending of a package by recorded delivery with the tracking number being added to the listing
problem was the package never arrived ,when reported to the seller he was told it had been delivered and signed for , ebay was of no help as tha seller had confirmation of delivery ,fortunately the victim did not give up and obtained the actual delivery address via the Royal Mail tracking service ,
this is what he found ....a letter containing blank pages was sent to a near neighbour with the same post code this gave the seller a valid address to send the recorded item to creating a paper trail with proof of delivery for any ebay/paypal claims, fortunately the neighbour had kept the letter and gave it to the poor chap who took it to the police who agreed that it was fraud and gave him a crime report number , armed with this and after several emails and phone calls he was able to get a refund
he also states that the seller is still active on ebay ......so be warned and if you are told your package has been delivered and signed for and you didn't get it use the tracking number and hope your neighbour kept it !!!!!!!!
btw
if it was someone on here who fell victim (Carl) PLEASE POST THE SCUMBAGS ID

Re: ebay scam
Just ask the seller for a photo copy of the receipt as it will have the printed address on it as typed in by the worker at the Post Office. If he can't do this then tell him that this is a known fraud and that you will take it further.
