Hi all I am new here and from Canada and I have a #42 Bedford evening news van that is different from any I have seen and no one I have contacted has seen one either. So I thought I better go across the pond to see if this particular one is over there.
The striking difference is it has no silver paint on the front bumper or anywhere else on the front end. It is near mint in every
other way and the box is in great shape> I think I scared everyone around here because no one can give me a value estimate or
even a straight answer I can't figure out how to get a pic on here yet sorry so bear with me while I try to figure things out. I also have a few other near mint MB toys to put up But for now I have sent an email with the pic to Nick Jones earlier hopefully He can put it up.

A lot of members here would consider your model without silver front trim a negative variation (Having missed the trim spray gun), or simply an 'Error' from the factory, but I call these odd models variations in our collection. I love this kind of oddity, and I pay a premium for Lesney errors like this, but some 'Perfect Mint Purists' would not even have this model in their collection because of the missing trim 'flaw'.
We each collect as we wish, and sometimes in totally different ways! Welcome to our friendly Forum Thecanadian, Eh......LOL :D kwakers, The Yank in a Cave in 'upstate New York'

Hello Canadian, I was going to ask you if the model had Grey Plastic Wheels, but found your advert and have put the model below and yes it does have the 'GPW'.

I have not checked this, but if theses wheels are the last type to be fitted to this model it may have been close to the model's deletion and it may have been a case of the last batch or so were not trimmed, just had the decals applied, boxed and sent out to the retailers etc.

You may be right I found my magnifying glass and have found 7 small specs of silver on the bottom of left of the bumper I thought this was a small rub but now with your theory maybe that's when the paint ran out and they did just what you said.I guess they didn't have good quality control back then lol

I have now had time to look at Nick's guide article for this model and additional to the 'GPW' on yours, Black Plastic Wheels were fitted to the Bedford Van and with Silver front trimming, however, looking at earlier models there is a definite decrease in the qaulity of the trimming on models with 'GPW' and 'BPW' and as other models in the range have been found minus trimming, I think your example is such a model.
