Hi all,
here is what I received today: a Superkings K17 Ford D800 low loader Pre Production/ Colour trial in all green + unpainted base.
What do you think? :)

Greetings,

Very nice! There are a few of these out there, not sure if they made dozens or hundreds

If it were just for the Home market it would a Dozen or so, but if it were for other countries then more would be produced so several examples could be posted to the Lesney reps abroard.

Also nice to see possible factory damage to the rear axle clip on the Tractor unit, something no faker is likely to think of doing.

A very nice model to add to the collection and in pretty good shape.
Seen quite a few of these now, a nice one recently sold on ebay but funds are a bit low. I have 3 playworn ones and have seen a few go through ebay and other auctions.
I assumed these were just a short production run, although I have not checked these yet to see where they fit into the production(early or later). J

Yes I know Bob, typical of me to post something useful to our faker friends...

Must be very early production because this version appears in the 1st catalog to feature the Super Kings issue of this

My all pale green version has a bit more paint on but seems to have faded when compared to my other Speedking versions of K17.
Pics show difference in green trailer shades between my green cabbed version and my pink cabbed version ....

I have one of these too, in near mint condition. However I also do not have the light green bulldozer as what was shown in the catalog. I know Everett Marshall had one where all components were in light green. This version was also listed in in the NAMC catalog by Bob Brennen as being in his collection and being the first production run.
