I'm not really the one to answer, perhaps Ghosty or someone else can help. I've seen very similar garages made by Mettoy and Coral Plastics but I think they may have been branded. Of course there were plenty of companies copying toys in plastic during the era that this was made.

Hello wtsgmi1970, johnboy,sms88,

As a youngster we had the Mettoy version which was in yellow and red with blue sliding doors.
When I packed up some toys in around 1973 I could only find the upper roof section but kept this with train set parts.
About 35 years later on a return home visit I was cleaning up the shed/garage and behind an old cupboard I found the base and still all intact. :o But still looking for my doors. :)
Periodically I look for replacements and had noticed a similar version but with doors like yours that hinge and they were made by Coral Plastics as Johnboy suggests although I do not recall seeing a light blue. The Mettoy is a nice quality and quite a hard plastic. It has Mettoy made in Gt Britain patents pending on base and does not have the square holes like your version.

Not sure who made these but I have 3 that appear to have been made by different manufacturers - I'll try to find them tonight when I get home and check them out more thoroughly... one entry in my database indicates a possible Welsh connection.

'POPLAR PLASTICS' were in South Wales and they are connected to 'CORAL PLASTICS LTD' who first made a version of the garage shown in the picture above for 'METTOY'. I say a version because an alternative version has a different door design.

There is also 'THOMAS TOYS' set up by the same Mr Islyn Thomas who was behind 'TUDOR ROSE', and 'TAFFY TOYS' also one of Islyn's plastic injection based companies, so there is a lot of plastic moulding going on in South Wales during the late Forties and through the Fifties.

Here is the 'SEGIC' version from the late 1970's, nice rendition of the Corgi 'Whizzwheels' Toyota 2000 parked just inside the door opening.
