Good question! I think the areas which look like they could be black paint around the rivet are scuff marks made during assembly. If so, then I'm happy with the bodyshell. However, we need a photograph of the underside in order to make a value judgement regarding the authenticity of this body/baseplate combination (which, although unlikely, is plausible in terms of stockroom emptying towards the end of the model's life).nearlymint wrote:Hi mike, does the black paint inside the roof look ok, it should only be in the rivet.

Also a base picture would be good. j
Hi Hugh.Idris wrote:I'm not sure about that roof rivet, Mike. The flaring looks a bit shallow for my liking, especially so given the out-of-timeline base. It the pole clip tight on the roof, or is there some movement?
Since paint is missing on the important portion of the spread rivet, it matters not if the base is tight or loose. There is no way to prove or disprove tampering and switching of the base.nearlymint wrote:Rivet does look ok comparing to your red one Mike, now you just need to confirm the base of the model.
Is the base tight , compare to one of your others where the model is pressed over to hold the base.

You took the words right out of my mouth, Jason!nearlymint wrote:Rivet does look ok comparing to your red one Mike, now you just need to confirm the base of the model.
