The Russian copy of the Corgi AMC Pacer comes from the 'PROGRESS' company of Moscow and may only be an 'Inspired' model, not a direct copy or clone. I am sure if you study both models you can determin which one it is.

That Gaz 24 Russian Beauty is very attractive.

Thanks Ghosthunter for the info on the Pacer.

I've had a closer look and I'm leaning towards it being a little bit more than just an inspired model.

I'd call it a crude copy.

But they did well to add the ramp and the packaging looks good.

I can see that the original tooling was not used to create the Russian example so it is certainly a crude copy and one must wonder how many other models were in the range and I bet they were not all Corgi sourced and I imagine the AMC Pacer names do not appear anywhere on the packaging (the Russkies not liking the Americans and all that!!), and the baseplate only shows an Animal logo, no country of origin or 'Brand' names.

Ghosty.

That Russian AMC Pacer is really interesting, and an item I haven't seen before.

I have two 1/43 items made by the Progress factory in Moscow, a Lada (copied from the Mercury Fiat 124) and a Zaporozhets. Both are pretty crude.
