Those are some classic images of the Stations, cars, and folks who worked them. I worked at a Texaco station during my High School days and we DID fill the gas tank, check the oil, and wash the windows plus check the air pressure in the tires if asked. Now, those WERE the days.................!
Thanks much!
Bill

My first job was in my Grandads Esso petrol station in Fife Lake Saskatchewan back in 1972/3, You can see the building at 0.05 in this short video, The pumps have gone and much of the town has disappeared with it, The Fife Lake Hotel is the only surviving business and that was Grandads too.

52 Chevy, 55 Chevy, 30 Ford, 49 Ford, 47 Ford, 53 Ford. Like going through a family album picking out some of the cars I have owned. I only wish there were stations like that still standing around here, I would love to turn one into a residential home.
Thanks for the pictures

As you travel around the small communities here in upstate N.Y., or even in many large or small communities in the U.S., there are still quite a few of these early primitive service stations still standing. Believe it or not, some are still being used for gas and convenience stores, while others have been converted to small business use that may not even be automotive related today.
The most impressive structure shown here that I cannot quite figure out is the multi story steel parking structure towering over the tiny Texaco Station. There has to be an elevator device between the two towers, but it would take some real nuts to ride that open device up 5 floors to park in an open crammed parking space with no walls on it. The Stations I have seen before, along with the Great cars through the many years covered, but that parking device is awesome and scary at the same time. Thanks for these Great images Joe :?:

Those small parking garages are cool. My brother lived in Korea for a few years and sent us a few pictures of similar storage set ups being used like that today. Reminds me of the large boat facilities in south Florida.
