I think it's a paper label and not a decal. I'm also sure it was stuck there by the trucks owner and not by Lesney. Same goes for the wreck truck; owner applied labels.fixer wrote:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1960-68-Match ... 5b0bc0d429

I've seen some strange stickers on wrong vehicles in my time and have a few myself but the one thing I always look at is any creasing in the label. If you take a label off of another vehicle there is always a tell tale sign ie: slight crease somewhere. So the moment I see a crease in the paper of any kind it is a no no. Having said that I do know that different labels were applied to other vehicles for trial or promo purposes. I have a few such models that although common I know they come from a good scource.

Given the stocks of original decals and labels which were sold off in the early 1980s, even with an (apparently) untampered label, there is always the possibility that the label was applied post factory.tjlglass wrote:I've seen some strange stickers on wrong vehicles in my time and have a few myself but the one thing I always look at is any creasing in the label. Provenance obviously helps, but we need to remember that there are plenty of (to my mind) dodgy models being offered for sale by people who had connections with the Hackney factory.

If it were me I would have preferred it in digital...something like No.1's and No.2's...
