The 1966/67 SEARS sets are difficult to find especially with the YELLOW box and BLUE plastic inserts.
The more common SEARS sets have cream boxes with white plastic inserts.

However aug 7 one yellow boxed set was sold at just under 43, - usd only.

It was probally overlooked as this one (closed almost 3 weeks later at aug 26) got a higher price while the outher box looked more damaged.

I think the box with yellow outher box is from 1966 and the one with cream outher box is from 1967 but not totally sure about that.

In 1968 and 1969 SEARS had checkerboard boxes with E/E1 boxes (1968) or F boxes (1969) inside.

High quality pictures f all 4 SEARS sets and the original SEARS Christmas catalogue advertisement of the late 60ties can be found on page 535 of Alex Pica his book.

Similar SEARS sets for Kingsize or 1-75 Matchbox models exist and again sets with yellow colored boxes are far more diffcult to find.

Would be interesting to hear what you have in your collection.
I know at least Kay has a cream boxed set.
Interesting of note also is that it is possible to find the rare issue 7 Y3-2 midgreen Benz in these sets with the open rear wing infill web. At least 3 of these were found in these SEARS sets including my own issue 7 Y3-2 Benz.

Thanks for the links zb - Looks like the G4 Cortina and the VW1600 in the first link have white roof racks. I can't make out the decal on the vw but the Cortina has the racing number used on the 15d. In the second link, the roof racks and race numbers are gone.

Note the Y6 Caddy in the first one has a trial tan roof rather than the production colour of maroon.

You are all quite welcome and I'm very pleased to have been able to contribute.

I never had thought to the Lesney models being in the Sears Wishbook Catalog.
However after Marcel mentioned it, I thought I would try to find an online source for the old catalogs- which I was able to do.
There are other Lesney's in the catalog as well. When I get a bit of time (as it takes a bit of time to do) I will go through the catalog pages on the site, and then post the links on the forum.

I have fond memories of waiting for the Wishbook to arrive when I was a kid, and of my brothers and I scouring the toy pages and circling what we wanted for Christmas. Seems these old Sears catalogs are more than just catalogs now, as they are indeed an archive of sorts, of many items that were, bought in days gone by... quite interesting. In browsing the pages I found several toys, that I recall having as a kid.
