The NAMC’s “Catalog of all Series Matchbox Models” (second edition) notes that early bodies are painted yellow-orange, whilst later examples have a more orange hue. In addition, variation 51-1G appears to be Nick's code 17 (i.e. the variation with the yellow-brown load) but with knobbly SPW (probably 9 x 20). If confirmed, this would form a new code 18.
The AIM “1-75 Series Regular Wheels” catalogue (second printing, 1983), Stannard and Houghton do not contain any variations not already catalogued by Nick.
U.K. Matchbox did not examine the model.
It should be noted that several catalogues highlight a different between light and dark GPW on this model.

Antonin has shown us a few casting variations to the inside of the cab at the rear of the grille.

I found on 51a Albion Chietain the very last use of Flat Crimped axles. Is there any later model with FC axles?
