Hi All.
My name is Andy.
Clearing out my mothers loft a few months ago (she was moving house) I came across a large amount of diecasts from different manufacturers.
Included in this haul were a fair few early matchbox.
Knowing absolutely nothing about the collectability of these models I did the usual internet searches and came across this fantastic forum.

My god, you guys are as crazy as I am when it comes to fly fishing!!! (and I mean this in the best possible taste)

The information on this forum is addictive and has proved to be extremely informative.
I am very much at a crossroads with what to do with this collection as I am not a collector but have become quite facinated by the whole subject.
Oh, and before I forget, I know you are going to want to see some pictures. I'll try my best.
Cheers.

Welcome aboard Baldheid! Throw out a line and stay awhile! It is amazing how fun these crazy little pieces of diecast metal and wheels can be. :D And yes, post some photos and the VBD family will help you pinpoint the gems. My hunch is that just about everybody here would embrace the "crazy" label as a badge of honor. Don't be a stranger!

Welcome Andy,

It just starts with a few models that catch your eye …... ("I remember that when I was was young" or "I/my Dad used to have one of those").
The shelf looks a bit bare so you get a few more to keep them company.
When friends/wife/family ask you say ……"No, I'm not a collector, I've just got a few."

Then you find out that the same model comes in different colours/windows/wheels.

And, a bit like your fish - you're hooked!

The only Toy fair in Scotland is in Falkirk at the Graeme High school, Callander Road FK1 1SY, it is organised by Mclaren Models of Falkirk and consists of about 60 -80 tables. It is meeting tommorrow Feb 1st and again on 1st March. It meets usually the first Sunday each month and you are most welcome. Entrance between 1pm and 4 pm at a cost of £1. Under 12's free.

Where abouts on the East Coast are you?
