I have not come across this variation before my Ramsay's gives a price of £400 , this one seems a bit steep

I would insist on a close up and very clear photo of the milk crates so that it can be determined that the paint on them is sprayed on (you can't tell in the photos if it's brushed or sprayed). The casting looks to be the very last one with braces on both sides of the draw bars. This would not be the right casting for this model! If it can be proved the milk crates are indeed mask sprayed, this model would be a new undiscovered variation. It could just as easily be a fake.

I have to disagree with you Joe. The casting is the correct one with the brace added on one horse shaft only, As it is in the correct extended box and it is coming from a reputable seller I would say it is more than likely the genuine item, But I would need to examine it in hand to be 100% sure.

Looks like factory sprayed trim just like my example - examining the driver to see if he has been sprayed from above with no angles leaves the face orange which is the case here........

The drivers are hand painted, only the milk crates are mask sprayed.

Tinman if you look in picture 3 it looks like a brace on one side only.... As I said I'm not familiar with this version so stand to be corrected

The problem with trying to work out if one of these is genuine or not is the silver trim on the drivers face is so thin that it wears away after it has been in a childs hands for a very short time.

Regardless, what I see is a bracket/brace that puts the model out of the time line.

OK, hang on a second, I didn't notice that there were two additional pics and both were overhead shots. I can get a much better view of the milk crates and I agree that they are mask sprayed. While there is some distortion on the right side of the draw bar, I doesn't look like there is a bracket or brace there in the overhead shots. But something is there as can be seen in the side shot.
In general, the item seems to be authentic and the price is subject to how badly a person desires the rare model. That said, I think it's way over priced and the box adds nil in that condition.
